When Bob is not traveling around Africa, Shark Cage Diving or wrestling with a stubborn computer, he is volunteering for CYMC and Strathcona Sunrise Rotary Club or relaxing on Cortes Island.
March 14, 2007 Bob and Michelle became the proud parents of Megan and Connor Wells. Due to complications, Megan spent nearly 4 months at the Victoria General Hospital in ICU. The twins are home now and doing great. For more info, pics and videos head over to Extreme Twins .
Jan 5 2011 Quinn Aiden Wells was born and has quickly grown into a big boy. Not satisfied with simply being the baby of the family, Quinn seems to be growing as fast as possible to catch up to Megan and Connor. At 18 months old he can switch clothes with his older brother Connor with little effort.
Bob brings an eclectic experience to My Tech Guys Inc. While taking Theatre Education at UVic, Bob was quickly hired to assist teaching technical programs such as lighting / sound design and stage rigging. He went on to help develop Fine Arts curricula at the Ministry of Education - although he would spend a significant amount of time assisting other teaching areas with integrating computers into their curricula. Afterwards, Bob started his first computer store "Silicon Garden", a computer co-operative where he focused on education and website development. Silicon Garden ran until Dec 2011 in Salmon Arm.
In 1998 later Bob was offered a job at Shaw Cable, the largest cable operator in Canada, in the Marketing and Sales Department. Although Bob was hired for his skills in front of the camera and on radio, by lunch time on his first day he was promoted to "Super Tech" of the Internet Department (which was created the same day). Bob spent several years at Shaw developing policies and procedures, training staff and working in various roles. From Server installation and setup, Call Centre to warehouse to installations and service repair, to software development, Bob worked in nearly every department at Shaw - usually streamlining procedures and training staff. In 2003 Bob "retired" to the Comox Valley where he began teaching A+ and Network+ computer repair at Excel Career Ccollege. While teaching Bob continued consulting on the side and in 2005 met Scott Swanson and the two hatched the idea of a new computer company that hired staff with outstanding interpersonal and technical skills. This led to My Tech Guys Inc.
With a wealth of experience in Windows / Mac / LINUX, Networking, Home Theatre, Cable Systems, Project Management, and home renovations, Bob is the "Swiss Army" Computer Tech.
