The Force was Strong at the My Tech Guys “Rogue One” Food Bank Fundraiser this Sunday.  Well over 100 people attended the private showing of the latest Star Wars installment Sunday Dec 18.  “After the success of last years fundraiser for YANA, the staff voted unanimously to host another private showing for My Tech Guys VIPs (family, friends and customers).  Obviously as geeks the staff were already going to go see the movie, but having our own private viewing means we can all dress up and watch the the show with people we know” says Bob Wells, owner and The Extreme Geek at My Tech Guys.

“The staff also voted to raise funds and get donations for the Comox Valley Food Bank.  We were able to raise $228 and fill 6 Rubbermaid tubs with food right before Christmas.  It’s always great to  provide a great experience for our families, our friends and the great customers that support us year round while supporting a worthwhile organization like the Food Bank” says Brian Bailey, Regional Manager and  The Climbing Geek.

The Comox Valley Food Bank distributes free emergency food to people in need. As a non-profit organization committed to reducing hunger since 1983, the CVFB gathers food and cash donations to support food distribution and collection programs.  “We prefer cash donations so we can shop the deals, buy fresh produce and fill existing gaps but we welcome anything you wish to give!” says Jeff Hampton, President of the Comox Valley Food Bank.
