Yes, that’s it! School, guess what that means?

New schools supplies, clothes and yes, new electronics and apps. We have already talked about our scorching summer laptop deal that is rolling over into the school year but we have not talked much about which apps we recommend to make your school year a success.

What are apps?

An application, especially as downloaded by a user to a mobile, computer or handheld device. They are downloaded online onto computers as install files, or on phones and tablets, from the Play store on android devices or App store on Apple devices.

What do these apps do?

Everything you can think of. There are many apps that you can download for free which can allow you to monitor your house pet, check the status of your thermostat and start your car. There are millions of apps out there and out of them I have picked a top select few for your back to school needs.

My top five for both iOS and Android

-BrainScape https://www.brainscape.com/

Brainscape’s online flashcards app applies decades of cognitive science research to make studying as efficient as humanly possible.

-Quizlet https://quizlet.com/

Create a custom diagram with locations, terms, and definitions. Then study it with activities and games — and see what you’re learning in a whole new way! Quizlet is a mobile & web-based study application used by 1-in-2 high school students and 1-in-3 college students in the United States.

-Todolist https://en.todoist.com/

Manage tasks and projects anywhere with Todoist. At home. At school. At work. Online. Offline. And across 10+ platforms. These lists are shared between parent and child, and you can even get notifications when an item has been completed.

-SpellingCity https://www.spellingcity.com/

-DuoLingo https://www.duolingo.com/

Learn a language with Duolingo. Make your breaks and commutes more productive with our iPhone and Android apps. Download them and see why Apple and Google gave then thier highest accolades. This app is proven more effective than Rosetta Stone and it turns learning languanges into a game with daily streaks, revisits on old topics and benchmarks that resemble most non educational computer games!
